Job Description:
The Forest Information Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of forestry-related data and information within an organization. This role requires a deep understanding of agriculture, environmental science, and forestry practices, combined with strong analytical and technical skills. The Forest Information Manager plays a crucial role in supporting strategic decision-making, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting sustainable forest management practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement forest information management systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data collection, storage, and analysis.
2. Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders to identify data needs and requirements for forest management activities.
3. Collect, organize, and maintain geospatial data, including forest inventories, mapping, and remote sensing information.
4. Analyze forest information to identify patterns, trends, and potential risks, and provide actionable insights to support forest management strategies.
5. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and maintain databases, software, and tools for forest data management.
6. Monitor and evaluate the impact of forest management practices on biodiversity, soil quality, water resources, and other environmental factors.
7. Stay updated on relevant regulations, policies, and industry best practices related to forest information management.
8. Provide training and guidance to forestry teams on data collection methodologies, tools, and quality assurance techniques.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Forestry, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in forest information management, data analysis, and reporting.
3. In-depth knowledge of forestry practices, including forest inventory methodologies, growth modeling, and ecosystem monitoring.
4. Proficiency in utilizing geospatial tools and software (e.g., GIS, remote sensing) for forest data analysis and mapping.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends and patterns.
6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate and reliable forest information management.
7. Familiarity with relevant regulations, certifications, and standards related to sustainable forest management.
